Pegboard

Pegboard test is an ideal finger dexterity test tool.
Pegboard test is usually used for patients who obtain a high score or a perfect score on the Frenchay Upper Extremity Activity Test.
It can evaluate the continuous recovery after stroke, especially when other tests plateau, use it to help improve fine motor coordination, and observe the speed and quality of movements.
The instrument used for the nine-hole pole test: a nine-hole plug-in board and nine dowels.

Test Methods
The subject picked up the dowels from the table and placed them into the jack as quickly as possible, one at a time, first with the good hand and then with the affected hand. The time limit was limited to 50 seconds. The less time it took, the better the hand's dexterity.

Pegboard test requires only simple tools and is easily understood by patients. The action process of the nine-hole pillar test includes the ability of the fingers (especially the thumb and index finger) to pick up, move, and release the small wooden stick, as well as the dorsal extension of the wrist and the cooperation of the elbow and shoulder joints. It is also a scale that tests the flexibility of the fingers.

This test has good validity, reliability and sensitivity.
