Choose this Active model if you want an ankle cuff with support plates, two separate manual adjustments and dual-side cords. If you prefer a thinner forefoot-wrapping design, compare the Syrebo Ultra-Thin Dial-Buckle Foot Drop Brace. The two products use different structures and should not be treated as the same brace.
No. This is a mechanical, non-powered brace. It uses manually adjusted cords to support the foot; it does not send electrical pulses to a nerve or muscle.
An AFO-style brace may be included in a clinician-directed plan for foot drop after stroke. Suitability depends on walking ability, ankle position, muscle tone, skin condition and sensation. The American Stroke Association explains foot drop after stroke; ask a physical therapist, orthotist or other qualified clinician which type of support is appropriate for you.
No single brace can be guaranteed to fit every shoe. This design works most directly with suitable eyelets. Some other shoe uppers may accept the included hooks after holes are added, but this permanently alters the shoe and may not be suitable for thin, fragile or loosely fitting footwear.
The left and right cords can be balanced to support inward or outward foot positioning while lifting the forefoot. It does not permanently correct a medical condition. Ask a clinician to check alignment if the foot rolls strongly inward or outward.
No. The brace provides positioning support and does not treat the underlying cause of foot drop or guarantee fall prevention. New or worsening foot drop should be assessed by a healthcare professional.
Safety note: Do not use the brace over broken skin or with a fit that causes pressure, pain or circulation changes. Seek professional advice before use if you have reduced sensation, circulation problems, a recent injury or surgery, severe stiffness, or an uncertain cause of foot drop.

Review the Syrebo foot drop guide for an overview of assessment, PT exercises, AFO braces and functional electrical stimulation. This product is a mechanical brace and does not provide FES.
This AFO foot drop brace is an ankle AFO brace for walking support. As a foot drop brace for shoes, it uses shoe hooks and manual cable adjustment rather than electrical stimulation. People comparing a brace for a drop foot or asking what makes the best foot drop brace should match the support design, shoe compatibility, fit and clinical needs to their own situation; no brace is best for every person.
